Position Overview

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the implications of laws and regulations on our operations, enabling the provision of strategic legal counsel that fosters effective commercial relationships while mitigating operational and compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gain a thorough understanding of JSI's operations, products, and policies.
  • Serve as the primary legal contact for all commercial agreements and related legal issues.
  • Provide direct legal advice to management regarding our services.
  • Standardize internal contract templates and establish best practices for contract review and management.
  • Oversee compliance with state regulatory licensing and registration requirements.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel on specialized corporate matters as needed.
  • Maintain a business-oriented approach that balances profitability with risk management through effective contractual terms.
  • Offer innovative solutions and strategies for conflict resolution.
  • Occasionally assist the consulting division in drafting and reviewing various contracts and agreements.
Qualifications
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Maryland.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in a law firm and a minimum of 5+ years in-house experience with commercial contracts.
  • Preferred experience in telecommunications or engineering sectors involving Fortune 1000 clients.
  • Familiarity with IP, product, privacy, and telecommunications regulatory issues is advantageous.
  • A strong passion for law and technology, with excellent legal judgment and attention to detail.
  • Self-driven with the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Sound business judgment, recognizing the implications of legal advice on business operations.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to work.
  • Positive attitude and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Capability to build trusting relationships with stakeholders across various organizational levels.
