About the Role

SIGN ON BONUS - $1500 (1/2 after 30 days, 1/2 after 90 days)

The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery, including front-end loaders, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and various light and heavy operational equipment to support overall facility functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute maintenance schedules for industrial machinery and maintain service records.
  • Repair and replace worn or damaged components in braking systems, engines, fuel systems, power trains, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct performance tests on mechanical products and equipment post-repair to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate and inspect heavy machinery to identify defects.
  • Interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical schematics.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy machinery using hoists and hand tools.
  • Overhaul and test equipment to guarantee operational efficiency.
  • Adjust, maintain, and repair subassemblies like transmissions using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify faults or malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
  • Examine components for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring tools.
  • Weld or solder broken parts and structural components using electric or gas welding equipment.
  • Manage parts inventory for repairs and services.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all facility vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety.
  • Assemble gear systems and align machinery components.
  • Clean parts using appropriate solvents or immersion techniques.
  • Adjust and maintain industrial machinery utilizing control and regulatory devices.
  • Fabricate parts or items from sheet metal as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in vehicle/heavy equipment maintenance or two years of mechanical trade school training.
  • Proficient in operating mobile equipment, including front-end loaders and tractors/trailers.
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
