Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as the manager on duty as designated by the Site Manager, which includes overseeing daily operations, managing cash register activities, and providing training and support to team members to achieve performance targets while adhering to established standard operating procedures (SOP).
  2. Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with each team member, customer, and donor, fostering a friendly and collaborative environment. Exemplify and communicate our Mission and core values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence to all stakeholders.
  3. Maintain a secure work environment by ensuring cleanliness and safety, following all established SOPs and procedures, and exercising caution in all work-related tasks.
  4. Provide guidance and training to team members on de-escalation techniques when interacting with the public and on proper loss prevention protocols.
  5. Identify and relay any concerns to the District Manager when the Site Manager is unavailable.
  6. Conduct accurate Point of Sale (POS) transactions and manage cash handling processes.
  7. Receive and accurately document donations using appropriate technology.
  8. Sort, clean, process, and price donated items in accordance with company standards.
  9. Organize and maintain the sales floor to align with established SOPs and guidelines.
  10. Assist with the Truck Swap process and perform necessary cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  11. Be available for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. May involve working at nearby locations.

Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, computer, and other necessary technology for assigned tasks.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Capability to communicate Goodwill's mission to the public and solicit monetary donations and customer information.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in using computers and technology for assigned tasks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and electronic survey platforms is preferred.
  • Previous retail and sales experience is beneficial.
  • Completion of background and drug screening processes is required.
