Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intrusion.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents and injuries, fire alarms, crimes, and safety hazards.
  • Provide assistance and support to employees, patients, and visitors, and summon proper authorities as needed.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity, parking violations, and abandoned vehicles.
  • Conduct routine visual inspections and report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED certification within 90 days.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FEMA ISP: IS-100.c – Intro to Incident Command System certification.
  • Report Writing and Practical and Tactical Handcuffing certifications.
  • Behavioral Emergency Response Training (BERT) certification.
Working Environment

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to occupational hazards. The successful candidate will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during situations that are deemed unsafe.
