Key Responsibilities

New Customer Acquisition

  • Analyze market trends affecting the food service industry within your designated area.
  • Identify potential clients and conduct thorough research to understand their needs.
  • Craft and present effective sales strategies that showcase the unique offerings of Gordon Food Service.

Enhancing Existing Client Relationships

  • Regularly visit clients to maintain and strengthen relationships.
  • Conduct comprehensive business reviews to assess client needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide continuous training on our product range to ensure clients are well-informed.
  • Spot opportunities within current accounts to enhance value through our services.

Sales Territory Management

  • Balance the acquisition of new clients with the nurturing of existing relationships.
  • Plan and coordinate visits to both prospective and current clients.
  • Keep clients updated on order statuses and processing timelines.

Training and Development

During your initial 90 days, we will provide extensive training to ensure your success. This includes:

  • Learning to navigate Gordon Food Service systems and tools for effective client management.
  • Gaining insights into our product offerings.
  • Understanding the sales process for new client engagement.
  • Building relationships within our extensive network of resources.
  • Mastering best practices for client relationship development.
  • Implementing strategies for effective territory management.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree or culinary certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in sales, business, or food service is required.
  • A valid state driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary.
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification is required.
