Clinical Research Coordinator

The Clinical Research Coordinator provides research coordination and support to the principal investigators, patients, and Gundersen Health System staff for projects that support the mission and objectives of Gundersen Medical Foundation. This role meets the expectations of a professional employee.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with investigators to recruit eligible subjects to clinical protocols. 2. Prepare regulatory documents for submission to Research Committee and the Institutional Review Board (IRB), manage data collection, and develop and maintain databases for the submission of protocol forms and treatment information to the Institutional Review Board. 3. Screen, enroll, recruit, and obtain consent from research participants. 4. Coordinate research studies, including contracts, budgets, billing, monitoring, audits, mailing, lab kits, and submission of patient information. 5. Monitor treatment implemented by Physician or RN-CRC for protocol compliance and occurrence of adverse events. 6. Perform administrative and regulatory duties related to the study as appropriate. 7. Provide education/training for others within the department. 8. Obtain and maintain certification, via testing, for Clinical Research Coordinator Human Participants Protection Education for Research Teams and good clinical practice training. 9. Participate in the contract research organization's investigator meeting to become knowledgeable about the scientific, medical, and administrative aspects of the protocol. 10. Team with the RN-CRC to facilitate the scheduling of tests and procedures for subjects participating in clinical trials according to protocol design. 11. Facilitate the collection, processing, and submission of specimens to the appropriate location per protocol.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, a learning mindset, and background in medical terminology and Epic are strongly preferred. Some travel required.
