Gardens of Somerset is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. As a CNA, you will provide quality nursing care to our residents, maintaining their comfort, privacy, and dignity. This is a part-time position, working every Saturday and Sunday from 7pm to 7am.
Responsibilities:- Provide individualized attention to residents' daily personal care needs, including grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Assist residents with lifts, moves, and transports, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
- Encourage and assist residents to attend community activities.
- Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and other personnel in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Adhere to assigned resident rotation to assist with needs and ensure cleanliness of resident rooms.
- Be knowledgeable of individualized care plans and provide support to residents according to their care plans.
- Communicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors, promoting a homelike environment.
- Understand and respect residents' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and abuse.
- Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification by the State of Louisiana required, with completion of a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program (NATCEP).
- Completion of Nursing Assistant Competency Evaluation Program for Long Term Care Facility preferred.
- Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test.
- Certified in cardiac pulmonary resuscitation and adult first aid within 90 days of hire.
- Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Direct Services Workers Registry.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, handling, pushing, and pulling. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.
