The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) II - Virtual Care/Telehealth delivers high-quality, patient-focused care through the application of approved protocols, workflows, and critical thinking.
Collaborating with healthcare teams and clinicians, this role ensures the delivery of effective, efficient, and high-quality care using digital and telephonic channels.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize telecommunications technology to provide patient care and manage electronic and telephonic patient messages.
- Triage patient needs and requests, determining appropriateness and acuity based on message content.
- Communicate with patients and healthcare teams to resolve queries and concerns.
- Apply nursing assessment and critical thinking skills to evaluate and triage patients virtually, via telephone, secure email, or other electronic tools.
- Evaluate emergency situations and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Document patient data, actions, interventions, and response to treatment according to established policies and guidelines.
- Schedule appointments and sign or pend orders outlined by clinicians, care protocols, and nurse standing orders.
- Assess patient and family health education needs and provide teaching, per protocol.
- Provide in-scope clinical guidance and patient education autonomously.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and departmental orientation, training, and evaluation of new staff.
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Associates degree in Nursing.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
