We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood samples from patients, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process blood samples from patients, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate efficiency and proficiency in the collection, handling, and processing of specimens.
- Perform a minimum of 40 venipunctures per eight-hour shift, prioritizing work to ensure completion within the assigned shift.
- Exhibit excellent customer relations in dealings with patients, visitors, physicians, hospital staff, and coworkers.
- Understand and participate in laboratory QA plan, safety policies, emergency preparedness plan, and infection control plan.
- Preferred - phlebotomy experience/training
- Preferred - processing experience
- Preferred - ASCP/ASPT certified
