Key Responsibilities

As a Parts Counterperson, you will:

  • Manage the entire parts sales process efficiently.
  • Engage with customers and team members in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate regarding the status of customer parts orders.
  • Utilize the parts catalog to accurately identify and discuss specific parts.
  • Handle incoming calls, providing pricing information and other relevant details to customers.
  • Review estimates from the body shop to ensure accuracy in parts orders and pricing.
  • Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external customers.
  • Pick and fill orders from inventory while conducting regular stock checks for accuracy.
  • Alert the parts manager about any out-of-stock items or urgent shop materials.
  • Source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and process emergency orders as needed.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are billed appropriately on service repair orders.
  • Process payments from retail customers or obtain necessary credit approvals.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in auto parts sales preferred.
  • A strong desire to grow within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency in performing calculations related to discounts, commissions, and other financial figures.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
