Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Amedisys. As a CNA Hospice Care Specialist, you will provide personal care services to patients in their homes, promoting their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provides personal care services to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to perform specific techniques of personal and supportive care.
  • Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, and performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status, and follows specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist, and performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years, or completion of another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Current CPR certification.
