Job Summary

Whitman-Walker Health is seeking a highly skilled Client Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our patient-facing department, you will play a vital role in assisting patients in accessing care and facilitating billing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients and update electronic medical records
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments, including sending reminders
  • Provide patients with necessary information prior to their appointment
  • Verify patient demographic information and insurance
  • Collect payment for co-pays and associated tasks
  • Adhere to and inform patients of our No-Show policy
  • Responsible for scanning current insurance and ID cards annually and when there is an update
  • Obtain and scan completed registration forms and other necessary documents
  • Label all scanned documents in electronic medical records
  • Provide patient-requested documents and facilitate correspondence
  • Check patients in and out, schedule and reschedule appointments, and send reminders
  • Perform claim data and verify medical insurance
  • Respond to electronic communication and telephone encounters
  • Provide information about Whitman-Walker Health services and community resources
  • Order ASL and language interpreters as needed
  • Provide patient portal access and directions
Requirements
  • Associate degree or 2 years of equivalent work experience required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare or call center preferred
  • Fluency in medical terminology preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Amharic required
  • 1 year of experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community preferred
  • 1 year of experience working with people living with HIV or issues related to HIV care preferred
Working Conditions

This position requires normal office environment working conditions, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. Individuals may be required to work at organization events.
