Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in the performance of procedures of an invasive nature to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination, obtaining additional information about their medical history as necessary.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock, including linen and related supplies.
  • Prepare prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration to patients.
  • Review clinical data on requisitions, analyze anatomical structures, and assist Radiologists in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for procedures.
  • Assess patient conditions before, during, and after procedures, and manually control equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
  • May assist with training new personnel and students assigned to the division.
  • Perform imaging procedures, demonstrating principles of radiation protection, and resolve image exceptions in PACS.
  • Complete study indexing in RIS, review clinical protocols, and perform quality assurance procedures as necessary.
  • Document medical records and radiology information system entries to support clinical and billing functions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV), or registry eligible.
  • Maintain required hours of continued medical education and Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS).
