Audiovisual Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Systems Designer to join our team at Applied Video Technology, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing audiovisual systems for various clients.

• Collaborate with Sales Design Engineers to ensure accurate and complete project designs.
• Participate in pre-sale discussions and project turn-in meetings.
• Develop detailed audio, video, and control signal flow drawings that meet AVT standards.
• Review and revise CAD and Visio packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Create product and cable lists for accurate ordering.
• Attend design and project meetings as required.
• Work with the sales department to create change orders and assist with project implementation.
• Close out AV installations with Field Engineers and Project Managers.
• Research new products and technologies for innovative designs.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to junior engineers.
• Protect client confidentiality and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
• Handle customer-facing meetings and presentations.
• Conduct needs analysis for AV systems.
• Participate in sales calls and team-based presentations.
• Direct, review, and approve project design changes as needed.
• Consult with clients to prepare project specifications and system designs.

• Working knowledge of Visio and AutoCAD software.
• Strong math aptitude, logical analysis skills, and thorough signal flow skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to problem-solve independently with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.

• BA/BS in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the audio-visual field in a design capacity role.
• Avixa accredited CTS certification, with CTS-D certification a plus.
• Additional manufacturer certifications a plus.
