Maintenance Technician Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Express Employment Professionals. This is a full-time position that requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

About the Job

Shift and Schedule: The successful candidate will work a standard Monday-to-Friday shift from 6am to 4:30pm. This schedule may be subject to change based on business needs.

Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary of $25 - $28 per hour, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Location: This role is based in Vienna, OH, where you will have access to modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume daily tasks assigned to the maintenance department, prioritizing tasks to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Regularly inspect, repair, and maintain all SMI equipment, including fans, cooling, heating, and ventilation systems, exterior buildings, and foundations.
  • Maintain facility walls, doors, and overhead doors, and perform rebuilds of pump equipment for painting.
  • Repair and maintain welding machines, tow motors, trucks, and cranes, as well as air system compressors.
  • Implement preventive maintenance plans for equipment and machines, including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues related to bearings, gearing, combustion engines, braking systems, hoists, and pulley systems.
  • Address electrical issues related to single and three-phase power, electric motors, electric brakes, and 115V electrical circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems involving valving, regulators, cylinders, and plumbing systems.
  • Organize and request SMI-supplied maintenance tools and work areas, ensuring cleanliness after completion of tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience of maintenance repair principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of operating principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and parts diagrams.
  • Strong understanding and experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory and repair, including relays, contacts, VFDs, wiring, and soldering.
  • Familiarity with LOTO procedures required.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication, including basic computer programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Able to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Excellent analytical ability in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues.
  • Competent to operate cranes and other mobile equipment.
  • CNC repair experience a plus.
