POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Specialty Pharmacy Manager to join our Specialty Pharmacy Services division.

This role will be instrumental in providing strategic leadership and direction for specialty pharmacy services at various client locations.

The successful candidate will oversee operational, financial, programmatic, clinical, and personnel activities to guarantee outstanding patient care and customer satisfaction.

The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for evaluating the performance and outcomes of the pharmacy team, making necessary adjustments to plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

Decisions will be made in accordance with established policies, procedures, and organizational priorities, with support from Visante leadership on critical decisions.

This position also entails monitoring quality metrics and refining clinical, financial, and operational practices, while developing action plans for ongoing improvement.

The Pharmacy Manager will supervise clinical pharmacy operations and provide guidance to clinical staff regarding protocols, decision-making, and patient care delivery.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is primarily on-site with some flexibility for remote work as scheduled.

COMPENSATION:
Competitive salary range based on experience and qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time role, typically Monday to Friday during standard business hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain essential processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
- Analyze operational performance and propose changes to improve effectiveness.
- Stay updated on operational and regulatory changes impacting specialty pharmacy services.

- Lead operational initiatives across the specialty pharmacy program, including:

- Marketing strategies
- Prescription management
- Contract pharmacy negotiations
- Policy development and implementation
- Accreditation procedures
- Clinical service delivery
- Medication access support
- Call center operations
- Dispensing protocols
- Compliance with licensing and regulatory standards.

Ensure thorough understanding of prescription billing and reimbursement processes, serving as a resource for billing inquiries and issues.

Oversee procurement of medications and supplies, ensuring proper record-keeping and adherence to established standards.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations regarding medication processes, including verification, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing.

Monitor daily activities to support continuous quality improvement in patient care, including accurate medication dispensing, addressing medication errors, and implementing controlled substance monitoring programs.

Understand and uphold all specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, ensuring necessary accreditations are achieved and maintained.

Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.

Provide operational and clinical support as needed to facilitate daily operations.

Supervise and mentor Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Medication Access Technicians, fostering their professional growth.

Assume administrative leadership responsibilities in the absence of the site-specific Director of Pharmacy, including participation in emergency response protocols.

Ensure compliance with established standards and organizational policies.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Visante leadership team or designated supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience required; Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) and/or PGY2 Residency preferred.
- Washington State Board of Pharmacy licensure required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required within six months of hire.
