Key ResponsibilitiesSummary: The role involves collaborating with Department Heads to establish stable and predictable processes that operate effectively with minimal variation. The position requires the development and documentation of systems for monitoring and controlling processes, alongside providing engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Close cooperation with Department Heads is essential for process enhancements and ensuring equipment reliability. Key measurement equipment performance will be evaluated and improved using statistical methods, while Statistical Process Control methods will be utilized to graphically model process behavior.
Primary Duties: The following responsibilities are essential to the role, with additional tasks assigned as necessary. This is a full-time on-site position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Collaboration with Department Heads includes:
- Establishing Process Setups by identifying critical process input settings that are well-defined.
- Creating and documenting process control methods that equip operators with the knowledge of expected actions, actual actions, and methods to control processes to meet specifications.
- Applying Statistical Thinking and Methods to assess process capabilities, analyze ongoing performance, and validate improvements.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Leveraging knowledge of technology, production methods, and equipment capabilities.
- Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements and related fixtures and tooling, focusing on continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
- Providing technical support to manufacturing teams while adhering to equipment and product specifications.
- Ensuring processes are safe, functional, and validated to perform at their design capabilities to deliver high-quality products.
- Conducting tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to explore design proposals for enhancing equipment performance or other factors, or to gather data for development, standardization, and quality control.
- Improving work methods and procedures to eliminate operational issues and enhance product quality.
- Performing quality assurance on existing manufacturing processes.
- Identifying areas requiring process control optimization.
- Evaluating the efficiency of manufacturing technologies, instruments, equipment, and tools.
- Acting as the technical lead for operating and maintaining plant equipment in assigned areas.
- Continuously analyzing manufacturing process flows to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve throughput.
- Supporting and enhancing manufacturing processes by implementing practices that promote reliability and maintainability.
- Driving process control innovation in collaboration with senior management.
- Recommending appropriate software solutions and automating manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshooting and collaborating with Maintenance to resolve issues.
- Adhering to all company policies regarding safety, housekeeping, and plant operations.
- Exhibiting strong written, oral, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrating excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Possessing superb analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

- Keeping the Plant Engineer and Operations Manager informed of significant issues as they arise.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals, encouraging and motivating them to take ownership and pride in their work. This role includes overseeing the work of vendors and contractors, ensuring completion of tasks while considering costs, schedules, quality of work, and safety and environmental factors.
QualificationsEducation and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of related postgraduate education and/or experience. Specialization in process control systems is preferred. Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and methodologies is essential.
Work Environment: The characteristics of the work environment are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role. The employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places, as well as fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and vibrations may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically very loud.
