Product Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at McWane Ductile in Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and improving production processes in our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
- Lead root cause analysis of quality and production issues.
- Lead development of corrective actions and validate results.
- Increase production efficiency by working with the production team to identify and eliminate waste in the process.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
- Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Improve work methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Troubleshoot and work with Maintenance to resolve problems.
- Work within budget constraints.
- Observe all Company, housekeeping, safety and plant policies and procedures.
- Have strong written, oral, communication and facilitation skills.
- Foster a focus of continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology required, plus 3 years' related engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing setting; OR an equivalent combination of related post graduate education and/or experience.
- Must be mechanically inclined and process minded.
- Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications for word processing, email, database management, spreadsheets, and AutoCAD software.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and other documents such as Company policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Ability to prepare business correspondence, detailed reports, work instructions, operating procedures, and processes.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, apply common sense, and solve practical problems.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and encourage and motivate people to take ownership and pride in their work.
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD and Inventor.
