Job Title: Project Engineer

This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in project management, engineering, and cost control. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing projects in the plant, working closely with various departments to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute assigned capital projects, including preparing and submitting capital appropriation requests, managing budget, cash flow, schedule, and project records/files.
  • Support or lead capital projects from conceptual phases through project close-out, including scope development, cost estimation, system design, risk assessment, equipment sizing and selection, procurement, installation, check-out, start-up, and close-out.
  • Review key aspects of all assigned projects, including ergonomics, safety, security, environmental, risk/FM Global, sanitary design, GMP's, food safety, and maintenance to ensure all requirements are being addressed.
  • Maintain an up-to-date awareness of Federal, State, and Local engineering codes and regulations, including KraftHeinz engineering standards and best practices.
  • Interface with business unit team leaders, maintaining close working relationships with operations, maintenance, quality, sanitation, and safety.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance across the entire facility, with a focus on the productive and infrastructure maintenance teams.
  • Provide innovative technical solutions required to meet local and corporate business objectives, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement or related tools and support plant CI efforts.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the plant Contractor Safety Program.
  • Provide support to annual capital planning process.
Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Engineering with 5+ years of project/process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Food Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plant utilities systems, including ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, steam boilers, is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of food manufacturing regulatory requirements, including GMP's, Food Safety, USDA, etc., is a plus.
  • Experience working with plant operators, leadership staff, corporate resources, outside vendors, contractors, and engineering firms is valuable.
  • Electrical/controls experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of financial policies.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
