Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, educate, and develop employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Ensure equipment repairs are completed in a high-quality and timely manner, and that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide corrective action when necessary, and be accessible to all areas of the shop to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Plan daily staffing to meet workload demands and ensure that all necessary equipment and resources are available to support operations.
  • Provide support to the Operations team regarding all equipment-related issues, and work collaboratively with other departments to identify and implement opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Perform administrative functions, including payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment, and communicate with Fleet Maintenance leadership to ensure Operations and company needs are met.
  • Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside vendors for repairs, and conduct pre-shift meetings with employees and weekly meetings with Operations team to ensure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Safety and other departments to investigate all safety and accident-related matters, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of vehicle maintenance experience, including at least six months of team lead/supervisory/management experience in transportation, operations, parts, or vehicle maintenance.
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission truck to determine if it is operating properly, and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills required; knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and proven leadership and interpersonal skills preferred.
  • Must be multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills, and basic Microsoft Office and Internet skills.
Working Conditions

Must be able to travel as needed, and be exposed to heavy traffic areas, considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise, as well as climate conditions of the geographic area. Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants may also occur.
