Position Overview

As a specialist in cyber tools and systems administration, you will engage in collaborative efforts to create cutting-edge solutions that ensure the secure and dependable operation of enterprise-level computer systems. Your role may involve working independently or within a small, integrated team, where you might take the lead on specific tasks, projects, or teams. You will be responsible for overseeing project completion and providing mentorship and direction to junior technicians, specialists, and managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer systems related to cyber tools and server systems across various classification domains.
  • Support both developmental and operational systems, focusing on daily operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting for all client, server, storage, and network devices.
  • Configure and manage operating systems, including Windows, UNIX, and Linux, while installing and loading application software such as Host-based Security System, Endpoint Security Suite (ESS), Splunk, Cribl, and various network security tools.
  • Contribute to systems engineering efforts in areas such as system design, evaluation, solution engineering, software development, and systems administration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, or maintaining security tools and applications, including DoD Endpoint Security Solution (ESS), Palo Alto Firewalls, ForeScout, Splunk, and Cribl.
  • Experience in automating cybersecurity tool operations, including deployment and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Risk Management Framework.
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to undergo a polygraph examination.
  • Educational background: HS diploma or GED with 12+ years of relevant experience, Associate's degree with 10+ years, Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in IT support.
  • DoD M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification, including Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND.
  • DoD M Cybersecurity Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
  • Background as a network administrator or systems engineer.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Gigamon, FireEye, Ansible, Encase, Fidelis, Suricata, Varonis, or VMWare.
  • Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell and BASH command line interfaces.
  • Experience with cloud services, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory for managing Windows policies.
  • Ability to create system and network diagrams.
  • Understanding of various layers of the technology stack, including network, application frameworks, database systems, and vendor solutions.
  • Familiarity with Git and Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence, as well as Microsoft Visio for graphic and flowchart design.
