Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Hunger Prevention and Children's Services, this role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee Hunger Prevention initiatives and volunteer efforts.
- Manage inventory for Hunger Prevention programs, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Assist in the planning and execution of Children's Services programs, including educational initiatives and seasonal events.
Essential Duties:
- Promote health and wellness through nutrition education.
- Maintain accurate program data and collaborate with the Director to share insights with staff.
- Ensure proper maintenance of food storage areas.
- Receive and organize deliveries, handling materials up to 70 lbs.
- Document food inventory activities, including donations and orders.
- Uphold confidentiality and respect for all program participants.
- Assist in administering food assistance programs.
- Help develop and maintain a calendar for Children's Services.
- Process applications for Children's Services programs.
- Coordinate donations and volunteer recruitment efforts.
- Conduct surveys to gather feedback from participants and volunteers.
- Assist with program assembly and distribution efforts.
- Act as a professional representative of TrueNorth in all interactions.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position includes oversight of volunteers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and effective management of volunteer activities.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; experience with volunteers and vulnerable populations is essential.
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Ability to obtain ServSafe certification.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
Physical Demands: The role requires frequent lifting, standing, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Work Environment: The primary work location involves both office and community settings, requiring flexibility in working conditions.
