Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to provide strategic advice and support to the President of North Dakota State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving key initiatives, developing and implementing strategic plans, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to the President on a range of institutional matters, including policy development, budget planning, and external relations.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the university's goals and objectives, including the development of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community leaders.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of key initiatives, including the university's strategic plan, budget planning, and external relations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the President's office, including the management of staff and resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of professional, senior-level experience in a large, complex organization or corporate headquarters.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to drive key initiatives and develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing senior executive-level strategic support within an institution of higher education, state government, and/or industry.
  • Previous Chief of Staff, Chief Administrative Officer, or similar level experience, particularly in the legislative domain.
