Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Urologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Urologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing urologic procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic urologic procedures, such as cystoscopy, ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy, transurethral resections, bladder biopsy, ureteral stent insertion, retrogrades, and orchiectomy.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with urologic disorders, including those with complex conditions.
  • Respond to patient telephone calls, inform patients of test/lab results, renew medication prescriptions, and provide telephone or e-mail advice to other providers.
  • Enter accurate, complete, and timely progress notes for each episode of care in the patient's electronic record.
  • Maintain and calibrate specialized equipment used in the assessment and care of patients.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, disaster preparedness, and other responsibilities assigned by the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS), Surgical Care ICC.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
