Job Description

We are seeking a Curatorial Assistant to join our team, providing administrative support to the Modern & Contemporary Curatorial Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the success of our museum.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Curators: Provide administrative support to curators, including coordinating logistics, managing paperwork, and preparing materials for exhibitions.
  • Manage Collections: Maintain accurate records of artwork loans, acquisitions, and donations, and coordinate conservation efforts and storage facilities.
  • Develop Educational Programs: Assist in planning and implementing educational programs, workshops, and events that engage audiences and promote the museum's collections.
  • Conduct Research: Conduct research on artists, art movements, and historical periods, and assist in writing exhibition catalogues, labels, and other educational materials.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. A Bachelor's degree in Art History or a related field and at least two years of experience working in a museum or art-related environment are required.


Benefits

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
