Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to support the maintenance of our General Ledger. This role encompasses month-end closing processes, preparation and entry of journal entries, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with deadlines and maintain organized schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries for recurring transactions, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including intercompany notes and prepaid expenses.
  • Document and uphold accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Assist in the analysis of monthly budget variances for board financial reports.
  • Support the annual financial audit by maintaining subsidiary general ledger schedules and compiling necessary documentation.
  • Contribute to the Coalition's annual tax return preparation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency within the Accounting Department.
  • Act as a backup for various general ledger functions as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; a Master's degree and/or CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing a comprehensive range of general ledger accounts is required, with a preference for candidates with intercompany accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining computerized accounting systems is essential; experience with Sage Intacct software is a plus.
