POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is pivotal in assisting the public and various stakeholders by managing inquiries via phone and in-person, providing information, inputting data, and executing clerical and cashiering responsibilities.

Customer Service Clerks are expected to adhere to both verbal and written directives, manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and communicate effectively with individuals who may be distressed or upset.

The department offers a diverse range of programs aimed at supporting individuals and families in need. The Customer Service Clerk will play a crucial role in delivering explanations and interpretations of departmental policies, procedures, and assisting with the completion of various forms. Frequent interaction with the public through phone calls, emails, public events, and at service counters is a key aspect of this position. Tact and diplomacy are essential when addressing concerns from citizens.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient clerical and mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $15.31 to $26.18 per hour.

Initial Salary Range: $15.31 to $22.61 per hour.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
