Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field. A valid Texas teaching certificate with necessary endorsements for the assigned subject.

Key Competencies:
Expertise in effective teaching strategies for Emergent Bilingual students
Understanding of PK-12 curriculum development and execution
Knowledge of language acquisition principles
Capacity to maintain a demanding schedule and systematically gather, analyze, and classify data
Ability to assess instructional programs and teaching efficacy
Familiarity with planning, staff development, and accreditation processes
Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills
Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, fostering positive staff relations
Proficient in training adult learners
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English and Spanish
Proficient in computer usage and software applications

Experience:
A minimum of five years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area(s).

Core Responsibilities:


Collaborate with administrators and educators to enhance instructional quality, ensure program consistency, and uphold instructional integrity for Secondary emergent bilingual newcomer initiatives.

Assist the Multilingual Education director in strategizing and executing effective professional development and curriculum delivery for emergent bilingual newcomer students from PK-12th grade.

Provide resources and materials for educators working with emergent bilingual newcomer students.
Offer instructional management support in content and teaching methods to educators of emergent bilingual newcomers.
Collaborate with ESL instructors to implement the district's secondary emergent bilingual newcomer program.
Engage in curriculum writing and planning, providing demonstration lessons as necessary.

Support educators and instructional staff in developing research-driven teaching practices that foster children's language, literacy, background knowledge, and conceptual understanding.

Assist educators, school leaders, and district personnel in establishing, executing, and maintaining effective language instruction programs aimed at supporting immigrant children and emergent bilingual students.

Deliver additional instructional services designed to aid immigrant children and emergent bilingual students in succeeding in secondary education in the United States, including orientation to the educational system and civics education.

Collaborate with directors and campus leaders in developing and supervising instructional programs in the designated subject area.
Plan and enhance assessment programs for the assigned subject area.

Collect, research, compile, analyze, verify, summarize, record, and evaluate diverse data and information related to immigrant students and Emergent Bilingual scholars.

Coordinate and develop welcoming procedures for immigrant students, including interviews and translation services.
Oversee the analysis of immigrant student records and transcripts.

Develop and monitor strategies to support immigrant students and emergent bilingual scholars transitioning in and out of the newcomer program.

Manage and collaborate with other coordinators to facilitate the implementation of the district's Bilingual/ESL program using a coaching model focused on emergent bilingual newcomer students.

Coordinate professional development to support the application of differentiated Sheltered Instruction strategies across elementary and secondary campuses.
Organize meetings, information sessions, and special events to foster an inclusive school environment for all emergent bilingual newcomer students.

Assist (after appropriate training) with assessments and language evaluations under the guidance of a licensed staff member to assess students' academic and language skills.

Innovate training delivery methods for all staff (teachers, teacher assistants, bus drivers, therapists, administrators, etc.) in the designated subject area.

Act as a liaison with building and district administrators to identify the unique needs of emergent bilingual newcomers and their families.

Collaborate with external agencies (e.g., refugee centers) to anticipate newcomer families and strengthen partnerships.
Coordinate services with district social workers and counselors.

Assist the Multilingual Education director in evaluating the needs of the district's emergent bilingual newcomer programs and work effectively to address those needs.

Implement systems to ensure the fidelity of district emergent bilingual newcomer programs.

Collaborate with core content coordinators and directors on curriculum, instruction, and assessment, including Spanish and English Communication and Community Relations.

Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments at the state and national levels in the assigned area. Facilitate communication with parents and community members about Manor ISD's emergent bilingual newcomer programs.
Utilize effective communication skills to present information clearly and accurately.
Stay informed of and adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Compile, maintain, and file all required physical and electronic reports, records, and documents.
Conduct comprehensive surveys to assess needs across various educational levels district-wide.
Coordinate a district-wide professional development calendar.
Serve as a resource for teachers, principals, district staff, and the community.
Assist in the development of district professional development publications, including online catalogs for training opportunities.
