Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning and Control: Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the production operation to ensure compliance with Arclin's goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Assign duties, ensure quality and quantity standards are met, and liaise with other supervisors, sales, managers, and R&D as necessary.
  • Innovation and Development: Integrate the innovative thinking of direct reports, peers, project team members into decisions that benefit project outcomes, while building the capabilities of team members.
  • Training and Development: Develop and participate in Operator training programs that include technical, leadership, and safety aspects.
  • Performance Management: Sustain team members' focus on time/cost/quality outcomes while delivering innovative solutions.
  • Employee Management: Develop employees' work schedules, manage their attendance, and submit hours/information to payroll.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Identify and resolve safety concerns or issues, and troubleshoot production problems and issues.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor, and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Shutdown and Startup: Schedule and supervise production shutdown/start-up for maintenance purposes.
  • Quality Control: Monitor production yields, quality, and report variances, making necessary changes to the process to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Accident and Incident Reporting: Responsible for accident/incident reporting and investigations, and may act as Co-chair for the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Process Safety Management: Participate and contribute to the site's Process Safety Management program, including PHA, MOC, and PSSR.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education at an accredited College or University or equivalent experience in a related manufacturing and supervisory role.
  • Experience: 2-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, leading a team and managing people.
  • Skills: Demonstrated supervisory skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, ability to identify and resolve problems, and mechanical aptitude.
