Position Overview
The Assembler I role is an entry-level opportunity focused on executing repetitive assembly tasks to mass-produce essential products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs. The individual will be responsible for a variety of assembly operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange components in specified configurations.
- Secure parts using bolts, clips, screws, or adhesives.
- Measure and cut materials to precise specifications.
- Identify and remove defective items from production.
- Operate machinery for fastening and assembly tasks.
- Adapt to different workstations based on production demands.
- Handle varying models of products as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Role
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. There are no specific educational or experiential prerequisites, although prior carpentry experience is advantageous.
Competencies Required
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions.
- Capability to write simple correspondence.
- Effective verbal communication skills for both individual and group settings.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure.
- Common sense understanding to execute detailed instructions.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The physical requirements outlined here are essential for performing the core functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
While executing job duties, employees will be consistently required to stand, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. Continuous walking is also expected, along with occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles is a part of the job. Employees may frequently encounter outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and vibrations. Hearing protection and eye protection are mandatory.
