About the Role

The Wine Experience Manager will be responsible for delivering an unparalleled tasting room experience to our discerning guests. This role requires a professional with outstanding communication skills, a passion for wine, and the ability to lead a team of servers, cashiers, and bar backs in achieving exceptional sales results and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Tasting Room Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the tasting room, ensuring seamless execution of opening and closing procedures, maintaining optimal labor and wine costs, and adhering to company guidelines.
  • Lead Team Members: Supervise and motivate a team of approximately 35 associates, providing guidance on performance standards, promoting excellent customer service, and encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase wine sales, wine club memberships, and merchandise revenue, working closely with the Tasting Room Manager to create promotions and incentives.
  • Event Planning: Plan and execute special events, such as wine tastings, tours, and shopping nights for wine club members, exceeding guest expectations and fostering a sense of community.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, ordering supplies within departmental budget constraints, and ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in food and beverage management, customer service, or retail management.
  • Wine Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in a wine-related environment, including operational budgeting, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and train team members.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Vin65, TOCK, MICROS, POS system setup, data entry, and reporting, as well as experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Inventory Control Systems.

Benefits and Compensation

Ponte Winery offers an attractive compensation package, including a salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 DOE, medical, vision, dental options, 401K matching, paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation time.
