We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Director of Nursing with a strong background in long-term care.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the leadership, management, and oversight of nursing services within the facility. In partnership with facility management, the Director allocates departmental resources effectively to ensure that each resident achieves or maintains optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. This role involves collaboration with various departments, healthcare professionals, consultants, and external organizations, including regulatory bodies and advocacy groups, to enhance resident care and administrative functions while representing the facility's interests. The Director is expected to uphold the company's values, mission, and vision to foster a positive organizational culture.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Comprehensive understanding of nursing principles and practices, particularly in geriatric care. Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations is essential. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are required. The ability to make independent decisions, solve problems, and interpret directives is necessary.

· Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of three years of experience in geriatric nursing, including supervisory roles.

· A current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in this state and a valid CPR certification are mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Nursing will oversee and manage the Nursing Department, which includes planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating clinical services provided to residents in accordance with facility policies and relevant regulations.

This role supports and adheres to the philosophy, objectives, and standards of the nursing department, participating in necessary revisions to ensure high-quality care.

Primary Duties Include:

1. Develop, maintain, and implement nursing policies and procedures that align with current nursing standards, facility philosophy, and operational guidelines while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

2. Communicate and clarify policies and procedures to nursing staff, monitoring their adherence and implementation.

3. Engage in all admission processes and may meet with prospective residents prior to their admission.

4. Participate in regular management meetings to discuss resident status, changes in census, staffing issues, or resident concerns.

5. Assess the performance of nursing staff, assist in determining salary adjustments, and enforce disciplinary actions in line with operational policies.

6. Ensure the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care and nursing oversight, as evidenced by adequate staffing, cleanliness, prevention of pressure injuries, and the maintenance of optimal resident functions.

7. Demonstrate knowledge of Key Clinical Quality Indicators, proactively monitoring and implementing systems to meet or exceed company standards.

8. Supervise resident assessments and care planning processes.
