About the Role

Rhode Island Energy is seeking a skilled Maps & Records Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Maps and Records department, you will play a critical role in supporting the collection and input of mapping data into our GIS Enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead GIS Specialist and/or Supervisor with training, monitoring, and developing personnel in the Maps and Records department.
  • Review, approve, and post maps and records projects.
  • Update and maintain the backlog databases daily into Rhode Island Energy GIS applications to ensure timely delivery of information and safe operation of public gas facilities.
  • Generate and update various reports to monitor performance against Rhode Island Energy deliverables, including Safety, KPIs, and Compliance metrics.
  • Maintain Record Retention database and prepare and process Maps & Records Historical documents.
  • Assist the Lead GIS Specialist and/or Supervisor in Performance Excellence, ensuring the Department meets requisite goals and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the design and development of quality assurance/quality system practices and procedures in upstream gas Workorder processes.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability and experience to supervise in an Automated Mapping/GIS environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Mapping, Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in a supervisory or drafting capacity.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills necessary to direct, motivate, instruct, and develop bargaining unit personnel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Esri GIS Enterprise Systems and the Utility Network.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal codes and regulations and company standards and policy.
  • Possess sound interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
