Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Executive with a proven track record of selling to federal government agencies, particularly in the healthcare sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive account strategy to grow our business within the federal health sector, with a primary focus on the Departments of Health and Human Services, the Departments of Defense, and Veterans Affairs. This will involve identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, and delivering presentations and communications to internal and external audiences.

A typical day in this role will involve:

  • Conducting market research to identify new funding and business opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining a value-added working relationship with internal stakeholders
  • Building positive relationships with clients and customers
  • Delivering presentations and communicating to internal and external audiences
  • Attending key industry association and customer-sponsored events
  • Cultivating strong relationships with proven external partners for teaming purposes
  • Identifying early key customer trends to proactively leverage capabilities to help the company grow
  • Managing responses to government market research inquiries

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8+ years of experience selling into federal health agencies, specifically DHA, DHMS, HHS, or VA
  • Ability to manage multiple customer relationships and a requisite opportunity pipeline
  • Ability to organize and coordinate customer meetings, RFI responses, and participation in industry events
  • Understanding of Information Technology and/or Engineering Services
  • Knowledge of Government contracting, acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors
  • Strong familiarity with federal acquisition regulations and contracting mechanisms, including IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, JVs, and others
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $130,000- $175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
