EMCOR Government Services is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA II) project in College Park, MD. This part-time position requires a strong work ethic and ability to work independently, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00pm - 10:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain designated building areas, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture and fixtures.
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
  • Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred.
  • Proven working experience as a janitor (5 years of experience).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk for extended periods, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and test or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
