Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate equipment (forklift) safely and efficiently to uphold our standards for a secure and organized warehouse.
  2. Pre-sort various items, including textiles and books, according to our guidelines to ensure quality output.
  3. Maintain knowledge of product locations to assist in keeping the warehouse clean and orderly.
  4. Proficiently operate a forklift as required within the warehouse, including loading and unloading tasks.
  5. Communicate daily with the Warehouse Manager regarding pertinent information related to operations.
  6. Engage in cross-training across various roles to ensure all warehouse functions are adequately covered.
  7. Complete all administrative duties, including end-of-day counts, truck paperwork, and record-keeping, while also being prepared to handle postal tasks as needed.
  8. Lead and support the team by embodying our mission and core values of Trustworthiness, Teamwork, and Teachability.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with a solid command of the English language.
  2. A commitment to the mission and values of Knox Area Rescue Ministry.
  3. Mechanical skills are highly desirable.
  4. Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  5. Understanding of handling, stacking, and storing various materials on different levels, including warehouse shelving.
  6. Capability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure and time constraints.
  7. Must demonstrate excellent ergonomic practices in lifting, bending, and other physical activities.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL
High activity level with some physically demanding tasks.

Stand for up to 100% of a standard workday.
Walk for up to 75% of a standard workday.
Utilize hands for required duties up to 100% of a standard workday.

Lifting and bending for up to 75% of a standard workday.

MANUAL DEXTERITY
Must be capable of driving, lifting boxes, handling textiles, wrapping pallets, and typing.

Compensation Information: $16 per hour
