Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the reconciliation of extensive and intricate bank accounts.
  • Demonstrate a robust understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries, debits, and credits.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly status reports, the monthly closing process, and the annual audit.
  • Assist in the financial planning process, including the preparation of the annual budget for specific departments and programs.
  • Compile and prepare all necessary Grant Reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for various mental health grants and contracts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of reports.
  • Reconcile assigned grant financial reports with the general ledger.
  • Conduct research to identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions within the accounting software.
  • Assist in developing monthly Cash Flow Forecasts and Projections.

Additionally, you will help prepare schedules for annual and single audits, while maintaining cash management records, which include tracking funds drawn and received, disbursements, deposits, and classifying revenue sources.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Possess a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Have substantial experience in account reconciliations, the closing process, and general ledger management.
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Blackbaud or Sage Abila is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets.
