Job Summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is a leading healthcare provider seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary team at the 82-bed behavioral health hospital in Brockton, MA. As a critical part of the team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality behavioral health care to acute populations, working collaboratively with a broader team of healthcare professionals to assess and adjust treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Develop treatment plans, measure progress against the plans, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide crisis intervention and complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in the teaching of students and other trainees, as well as departmental and organizational quality improvement programs.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree from a Nurse Practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health) accredited by a Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing-recognized national accreditation body.
  • Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or five years of experience in Nursing, with a strong interest in working with patients who come from underserved populations.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as a valid DEA certificate and MA Controlled Substances certificate or eligibility.
  • Buprenorphine waiver required or willingness to acquire waiver.
  • Current advanced practice certification by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing-approved nationally recognized certifying body.
