Our commitment to excellence and innovation has established us as a leader in visual computing technology, providing energy-efficient solutions that cater to the most demanding users, including researchers and gamers.

About the Role

As part of our Aerial platform, NVIDIA is pioneering the creation of a digital twin for Radio Access Networks (RAN) tailored for 5G and 6G technologies. The Aerial Digital Twin is set to transform how we simulate physically accurate networks at scale, leveraging our Omniverse platform and the power of RTX ray tracing. We are seeking a dynamic and skilled senior engineer to play a pivotal role in the architecture and comprehensive software development lifecycle of the Aerial Digital Twin.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with visionary technical leaders to establish and deliver a simulation environment that enhances the innovation, design, deployment, and testing of Radio Access Networks for 5G/6G.
  • Design, construct, scale, and troubleshoot the simulation framework, which encompasses user interfaces, physics, traffic modeling, timing, animation systems, GIS data ingestion, memory optimization, and performance profiling.
  • Engage closely with external clients to ensure efficient adoption of the Aerial Digital Twin.
  • Analyze customer requirements and coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to fulfill those needs.
  • Work in conjunction with other NVIDIA teams, such as the Omniverse group, to deliver a comprehensive simulation capability.
  • Develop software to render and manipulate synthetic environments utilized in creating digital twins of Radio Access Networks for 5G/6G.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in graphics software engineering, or 2+ years with a PhD.
  • 6+ years of experience in object-oriented and component-based design.
  • Proficiency in modern C++ and/or Python for 6+ years.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GIS/stereo photogrammetry data, including metadata ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval.
  • Experience with user interfaces for RAN simulation software and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in shipping products utilized by a diverse customer base.
  • Familiarity with Universal Scene Description (USD) or CityGML.
  • Knowledge of ray tracing, rasterization, and linear algebra.
  • Experience in developing existing RAN simulation applications.
  • Familiarity with real-time hardware ray tracing APIs such as Vulkan Raytracing API, DXR, Nvidia RTXDI/OptiX.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of GIS analysis and data processing.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on your location, experience, and the compensation of employees in similar roles. In addition, you will be eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
