Head of Finance Job Description

Waabi, a pioneering AI company, is seeking a seasoned Head of Finance to lead its financial planning, management, and reporting functions. As a key member of the executive team, you will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, ensuring the company's financial health and compliance, and optimizing financial performance to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team to provide accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships to optimize working capital and minimize financial costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, evaluating investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Develop, enhance, and refine financial systems and procedures, aligning them with industry best practices.
  • Lead by example in developing, motivating, recruiting, and retaining a highly effective finance team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA certification preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in senior finance leadership positions, collaborating closely with executives.
  • 10+ years of finance leadership experience preferably within the technology industry in the US or Canada.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial management, analysis, tools, and reporting methodologies.
  • Strong expertise in financial regulations, accounting principles, and taxation.
  • Experience in developing internal controls and financial processes.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience and excitement in supporting a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Adherence to high ethical standards and integrity.

The US yearly salary range for this role is: $221,000 - $297,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
