Job Title: Head of Finance

Afore Capital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the venture capital firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all financial aspects of Afore Capital, including budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting.
  • Work closely with outsourced accounting and tax firms to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, SOIs, capital calls, audits, and tax filings.
  • Oversee the financial health of the firm, including tracking cash flow, managing expenses, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to analyze investments and track the performance of portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to provide financial insights and support investment decision-making.
  • Prepare and publish financial statements, ensuring transparency and accuracy for investors and stakeholders.
  • Manage vendors, including accounting and tax firms, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Scale financial operations as the firm grows, adapting processes and systems to meet evolving needs.
  • Handle day-to-day financial inquiries and tasks, such as monitoring bank accounts, paying bills, and managing rent.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2-3 years in venture capital or private equity.
  • Experience managing GP entities.
  • Experience managing relationships with accounting and tax firms.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, data-driven, and startup-ready personality.
