About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coding and Auditing Specialist to join our team at UNM Medical Group, Inc. As a key member of our coding department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical coding practices.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $57,220 - $71,531 per annum, based on years of relevant experience. The salary is determined by your total years of experience and is prorated accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough audits of medical coding practices to identify areas for improvement.
  2. Develop and implement educational programs for coding staff and medical providers to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  3. Analyze CMS, Federal, State, and other billing guidance agencies to ensure accurate and up-to-date guidelines.
  4. Collaborate with coding leadership to formulate the annual work plan and capture risks in audit plans.
  5. Provide onboarding education and training for newly hired Medical Coding Analysts.
  6. Maintain strict confidentiality of medical and financial records.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years directly related experience.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification.
