Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a robust background in mechatronics, specifically in mechanical, electrical, and software integration for machine and fixture design. Expertise in electromechanical fixture design and motion control is essential, while experience in consumer electronics is advantageous.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Take comprehensive ownership of hardware design and manufacturing processes for systems, fixtures, and prototypes to support product development and validation initiatives.
  • Design innovative mechatronic and electromechanical fixtures/systems for internal validation testing of consumer wearable technologies.
  • Develop detailed specifications and project plans, collaborating closely with product designers and cross-functional teams to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Serve as both a team leader and an individual contributor, conducting intricate design work, creating 3D models, and facilitating design reviews.

Technical Expertise Required:
  • Proficient in NX with advanced surfacing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing high-precision mechanisms and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sheet metal stamping, forging, and die casting.
  • Strong understanding of tolerances and tolerance analysis relevant to fixture design.
  • In-depth knowledge of product lifecycle management, particularly in early-stage development and production.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role.
  • Proficient in Siemens NX for CAD applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in technical documentation and report generation, with expectations to produce technical reports and present findings at reviews.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in creating production drawings for consumer electronics using NX.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong decision-making skills to facilitate progress based on engineering principles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational capabilities.
  • Experience in designing 3D plastic and metal components for various manufacturing methods.
  • Familiarity with mass production processes.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, JMP).
  • Knowledge of project and process planning methodologies such as DFSS, V-Models, Gantt charts, or similar tools.
