Key Responsibilities

As a Member Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing financial transactions for members, accurately entering them into the Bank's software systems, and issuing receipts.
  • Adhering to the Bank's security protocols on a daily basis.
  • Staying informed about the Bank's check cashing policies and federal regulations to verify checks and cash, as well as reviewing documents for essential details.
  • Assessing member accounts to make informed decisions regarding transaction requests.
  • Maintaining an accurate cash drawer balance on a daily basis.
  • Promoting TowneBank and its offerings to members.
  • Delivering outstanding service to members, whether in person, over the phone, or via email.
  • Exhibiting a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Performing additional branch duties as assigned.
  • Complying with all relevant federal laws, rules, and regulations concerning Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:

  • A minimum of one year of cash handling and customer service experience with a single employer, or six months of experience as a bank teller.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft applications. Familiarity with banking software is a plus.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt as new systems or processes are introduced.
  • Experience operating a cash register and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • The ability to process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • A proven track record of providing excellent member service in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • The capability to work effectively as a reliable team member.
  • Dependability and punctuality, with a commitment to minimizing unplanned absences.
Physical Requirements

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Communicate ideas effectively through spoken word, both verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force, utilize your arms and legs, and remain seated for extended periods.
  • Maintain close visual acuity for tasks such as analyzing data, viewing computer screens, reading, and preparing documentation.
  • Work in an environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
