    2. Support and guide child care staff to ensure high-quality services.
    3. Actively participate in the care and support of children, fostering their development.
  2. Required Qualifications:
    1. Foster Parents must undergo a thorough screening process, including standardized assessments as mandated for foster placements.
    2. A medical examination, including a skin tuberculin test, is required prior to the placement of children and at each license renewal.
    3. Ideal candidates will possess the necessary experience and temperament to work effectively with children and their families, promoting healthy development.
    4. Ability to educate staff on youth care theories and practices.
    5. Familiarity with group dynamics and processes.
    6. Leadership skills to guide and motivate team members.
    7. Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with other professionals.
    8. Cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to diverse client backgrounds.
  • Reports To: Foster Care Supervisor
  1. Essential Duties:
    1. Provide direct therapeutic support to children.
    2. Demonstrate proficiency in the Interaction and Motivation program, offering training and consultation to staff.
    3. Ensure appropriate supervision of children in line with agency standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Intervene judiciously in crisis situations to maintain safety for children and staff.
  2. Facilitate ongoing training and development for child care staff to ensure competence in meeting objectives.
  3. Conduct assessments for each resident as per agency protocols and develop individualized service plans.
  4. Maintain effective communication with parents and referring agencies.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
