Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Contract Activities:
    Responsible for crafting commercial documentation, reviewing inputs from various departments, and drafting contract agreements to ensure coherence with procurement strategies.
  • Procurement Management:
    Evaluate tenders and facilitate moderation processes to secure contract awards.
  • Post-Contract Oversight:
    Provide commercial assurance to the Head of Commercial regarding all delivery-related commercial functions, including:
    • Administration of obligations under the NEC3 Contract, including assessments of variations and compensation events.
    • Maintain rigorous cost verification processes.
    • Analyze monthly supply chain reports to enhance performance.
    • Contribute to monthly contract and program performance reviews.
    • Support the resolution of supply chain disputes.
    • Offer day-to-day commercial advice to the client team.
    • Identify opportunities for project savings and assist in developing proposals for approval.
    • Foster a collaborative culture within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) that promotes innovation and best practices.
  • Leadership Responsibilities:
    Lead and mentor commercial resources, setting objectives and managing performance to ensure the team possesses the necessary skills and support for success.
  • Policy Development:
    Contribute to the creation and maintenance of effective contract and commercial management policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile:
Essential Skills:
  • Proven ability to manage high-value contracts critical to infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in developing commercial strategies for capital projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in managing stakeholder relationships to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Ability to create and implement commercial policies and procedures.

Experience Requirements:
Experience in leading commercial management teams within infrastructure projects, particularly those funded by public entities. Familiarity with planning, developing, and executing infrastructure contracts, as well as working with procurement teams during tender processes is essential.
