Job Summary

As a CT Technologist at CARTI, you will play a critical role in assisting in disease diagnosis by performing CT procedures. This position is a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review images in the PAC system to ensure accurate diagnoses.
  2. Identify abnormal abnormalities and assist the Radiologist in the interpretation of patient exams.
  3. Perform CT procedures as prescribed by a physician, including positioning patients for the proper view of the affected area and selecting the appropriate scan images to be transferred to a PACS system.
  4. Obtain essential information from patients, medical records, and previous scans for clinical correlation, and instruct patients about the proper physiological requirements for the procedure.
  5. Help patients transfer to the CT exam table and ensure adequate patient immobilization to perform the scan, and know how to change scanning parameters to improve a scan.
  6. Obtain diagnostic CT images by scanning the appropriate body part of the patient, and submit diagnostic CT exams to a physician for interpretation.
  7. Assist in performing life-saving techniques (CPR, first aid) to the patient if necessary.
  8. Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination, handle blood and body fluids, and deal with infectious patients.
  9. Perform patient care tasks as needed, and request charts and film folders from the online computer program.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma; graduation from an accredited Radiography school.
  2. ARRT (CT) registered; or registry eligible.
  3. Current Radiologic Technology License (RTL) in good standing.
  4. BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Minimum one year of experience and/or training with graduate CT.
  2. Skilled in injecting contrast intravenously for imaging procedures.
  3. Skilled in using computer network systems competently to process patient and department information.
  4. Knowledgeable and skilled in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
  5. Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
