Job Summary:
CARTI seeks a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform nuclear medicine procedures and other imaging duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear medicine technology and quality care standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate patient exams, ensuring timely and efficient use of resources.
- Prepare and inject radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Process diagnostic imaging procedures and record radiopharmaceutical administration to patients, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Receive and record information regarding receipts of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals, ensuring compliance with licensure requirements.
- Coordinate patient information, including medical charts and charge slips, to ensure seamless care.
- Perform quality assurance procedures on equipment, including daily and weekly surveys and wipe testing, to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strictest standards of patient information protection.
Education, Certification, Licensure, and Registration:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine.
- Registered by either the ARRT (in Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB.
- Arkansas driver's license within 30 days of hire.
- Current Arkansas State Nuclear Medicine Technologist License required.
- BLS certification required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine technology technical principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of quality care standards for nuclear medicine.
- Knowledge of safety requirements for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Skilled in injecting radiopharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures.
- Skilled in using computer network systems to process patient and department information.
- Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
- Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
Physical Demands:
