Patient Care and Administrative Support

At Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS), we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. As a Unit Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient care and clerical needs, acting as the primary contact for the unit.
  • Perform phlebotomy tasks and conduct lab draws as needed.
  • Assist and respond to information requests from doctors, nurses, patients, and families.
  • Provide basic hygiene care, injections, venipunctures, and other patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Transport meal trays to patients and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge patients, maintaining accurate records and notations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection prevention and environment of care guidelines.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current Heartsaver CPR course completion card.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate patient-centered behaviors.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and report generation.
