Job Title: Financial Specialist

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist to join our team in the School of Medicine. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial and administrative needs of our department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis for faculty and administrators
  • Monitor and analyze monthly financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement financial processes and procedures to ensure compliance with university policies and regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to faculty, staff, and students
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to develop and implement financial plans and budgets
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial operations or a related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience working in a higher education or academic setting
  • Knowledge of financial management systems and software
